Today, we had lots of fun preparing this post! Since Veronica’s birthday was last week, she has officially been allowed to wear makeup. In our house (and many other Cuban homes) our girls aren’t allowed to wear makeup until they are 15 years old. That includes nail polish! Once you turn 15, you can wear it anytime you like (of course very natural looks; Poppa would die if she jumped right into smokey-eye looks!) We’ve had so much fun playing with makeup together, so we decided to show you how we do a natural makeup look!
We will list what products we use as we go, and at the end we will list them again with their prices and links to find them 😀
Lets get started!! We first start with a washed, moisturized, and primed face.
For the eyes, we will be using Erica’s Urban Decay Naked Basics palette, in all shades.
First, we used our Real Techniques base shadow brush and sweep W.O.S around as a base shade.
Next, we took an Ulta brush and swept the shade Naked2 in the crease of her eyelids.
Next, we used our EcoTools eye shadow brush and patted the shade Faint in the outer ‘V’ of her eyes.Wow that looks kinda messy! The next step really comes in handy…
To blend the colors and make them smooth, we used our EcoTools shadow blending brush and swirled it on her lids. We started from the outer corner and worked our way in, blending gently.Much better! Were getting closer!
We figured eyeliner looked a bit too harsh, so instead we used our Real Techniques Fine Liner brush in the shade Crave along her lashes. Its much softer and more natural looking than black eyeliner.
Next, we used our Mica Beauty Cosmetics angle eyeshadow brush to highlight Veronica’s brows and inner corner. We used the shade Venus for her inner corner and Foxy under and above her brows.
Lastly for her eyes, we used our Covergirl Lashblast Volume mascara. We only have a sample size that we got in a Zulily package, but when it runs out we are so buying more!!Veronica’s eyelashes are pretty fabulous as they are, so we only did one coat 🙂
Now we move onto the face! First, we dabbed on a bit of Erica’s BeautyCounter Dew Finish tinted moisturizer in the shade 2. We blended it in with Erica’s makeup sponge and set it. (Want to know a shameful secret? That blender sponge was originally Lavender… 😦 We’ll clean it so its purple again, and after one use its cream!)
Finally, we take our Real Techniques multi-task brush and swirl it in the blush in Erica’s BeautyCounter Winter Dream palette. Tap the brush against the palette or something else thin (so there isn’t too much product, or else you may look kinda clown-y!) and we brush it on Veronica’s cheeks. Use a setting spray and you’re done!Doesn’t she look so pretty!? Its the perfect natural look! Not too heavy or over the top, and you can simplify the eye look or crank it up a notch to match your style. Or, to add a nice touch, you could add a more colorful lip color! We only used lip balm, that way it fit the natural look.
